DETROIT LAKES (KDLM/TV3) - Polar explorer Ann Bancroft says she knew she wanted to cross Antarctica when she was 12 years-old; the St. Paul native and first woman to successfully finish a number of arduous expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic made a stop in Detroit Lakes this week as part of the DL Polar Fest activities.
Ann spends most of her year traveling and encouraging girls to live their dream and reach their full potential as part of her, Ann Bancroft Foundation. Since 1997, ABF has awarded grants totaling more than $1.4 million to over 4,000 Minnesota girls—connecting them to mentors, funding and encouragement to help them reach for their highest goals.
Ann took a moment out of her stop in Detroit Lakes to speak with TV3 which you can watch below.
