We Remember: Local Memorial Day Services

In Detroit Lakes, a parade begins at 10:00am from the Veterans Memorial Park, down Washington Avenue to the City Park where a Memorial Day Ceremony will take place in the Pavilion.Frazee:
Beginning at 7 a.m., the Frazee’s VFW Post 7702 offers a pancake and sausage breakfast for veterans, spouses, widows and parade participants at the Frazee VFW on Main Avenue.
At 11 a.m. Memorial Day ceremonies continue in downtown Frazee with VFW members leading a parade down Main Avenue. A ceremony will continue at Sacred Heart Cemetery on County Highway 29 North with guest speaker Pastor Ryan Stockstrom, Harvest Fellowship Church.
The Memorial Day service begins at 9:30 a.m. on Main Street by Goodman’s SuperMarket. A ceremony follows at the Vergas Village Cemetery with guest speaker Pastor Ryan Stockstrom from Harvest Fellowship Church.
In Wolf Lake...
The Finnish-American Historical Society holds a freewill pancake breakfast for the public from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Wolf Lake Lions Hall with guest speaker Trudy Maninga. Everyone is welcome to attend.
7 a.m. to Noon at Prairie Wind Middle School
The Perham Masonic Lodge’s 10th Annual All-You-Can-Eat Dad’s Belgian Waffle Breakfast, with waffles, syrups, sausage and beverages, will be served before and after the Memorial Day service at the middle school. The cost for adults is $8.50 at the door, or $8 in advance. Kids 5 and under eat free. Carry-outs are available. Proceeds from the breakfast go to local Masonic scholarships, the Perham VFW and local Ladies Auxiliary.
10:00am at the Prairie Wind Middle School a traditional Memorial Day Service with special music, a guest speaker and more. Presented by the Perham V.F.W. Post 4020, American Legion Post 61 and Ladies Auxiliary. Free and open to the public.
