What's the Vision of Health and Wellness in The Detroit Lakes Area?

DETROIT LAKES, MN--A couple of Health and Wellness opportunities this week in Detroit Lakes. First, Tuesday, the 3rd Annual Community Health and Wellness Summit sponsored by Becker County Energize will be held at First Lutheran Church. Organizer, Karen Crabtreee from Essentia Health and Becker County Energize says this year's theme comes from the special guest Jim Benson, Bemidji State President Emeritus, who will present "Planning from the Future". Crabtree says Benson will begin speaking at 8:45am.
Crabtree says The 3rd Community Health and Wellness Summit will feature what's happening locally with representatives from our community organizations who provide health and wellness services. Some of the topics local organizations will present on tomorrow include: Community Health and Healthcare, Special Education and Baby Wellness, Opiates in Mental Health, Tobacco 21 and Manna Food Co-op. Lunch will also be provided thanks to sponsors of the event. The event begins at 7:45am with registration, refreshments and health screenings and speakers and activities will proceed until 4:00pm. It's free and everyone is invited.
Wednesday, the Health and Wellness Expo sponsored by Essentia Health and Leighton Broadcasting will be held at the Holiday Inn from 3 to 7:00pm featuring Vendors, Fitness Class demos, Health screenings, door prizes and more, it's also free and everyone is welcome. Organizers recommend comfortable dress as you may participate in samples of one or two or all of the many fitness classes available in the community.
