(Grand Forks, ND) -- Wildlife officials say a moose that wandered onto the University of North Dakota campus should not have been drugged. Jeb Williams of the North Dakota Game and Fish Department said drugging and relocating the animal posed a health risk to humans who might eat it. The moose was captured on a football stadium Tuesday, and tranquilized by campus police and North Dakota Zoo personnel. Williams said the anesthetic and antibiotics may stay in the moose's system through archery hunting season.
