(BECKER COUNTY, MN) -- An ATV crash Sunday morning in rural Becker County north of Detroit Lakes sends two teens to a Minneapolis hospital and leaves three other young children injured. According to the Becker County Sheriff's office, just before 11:30am Sunday, near Bass Lake in Shell Lake Township, five juveniles were riding a UTV side-by-side when they lost control and crashed on a trail on the property of a family member. Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander says a 14-year-old male driver and a 13-year-old female passenger were air lifted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. Three juvenile male passengers ages 8, 11 and 13 sustained minor injuries. According to the Sheriff's office no one riding on the UTV was wearing a seatbelt or helmet. Assisting the Becker County Sheriff's Office at the scene were the Minnesota State Patrol, Detroit Lakes Police Department, US Fish and Wildlife Enforcement division, Carsonville Fire and Rescue, North Memorial Ambulance and North Memorial Air Care. The incident remains under investigation. No word on how the teen lost control.
