Tennis

The Laker tennis match versus Perham yesterday was postponed due to weather. There is no word yet when the match will be rescheduled. The tennis team is scheduled to have a game today in Thief River Falls at 4pm.

Girls Soccer

The Laker Girls soccer team hosted the Moorhead Spuds last night at the Rotary Soccer Park, in Detroit Lakes. The Lakers gave up the first goal of the game at the 15 minute mark of the first half. The goal was scored by the Spuds Olivia Watson. Detroit Lakes was able to bounce back two and a half minutes later with a goal by Matteya Borah. Moorhead was able to then score three unanswered goals and was able to hold on for the win 4-1. The Spuds outshot the Lakers 18-2. The Lakers are now 5-2-2 on the season. The Spuds have now won 6 in a row and are 8-2 on the year. Next up for Detroit Lakes they host Fergus Falls on Saturday at 1pm.

Boys Soccer

The boys’ soccer team was able to beat Moorhead on the road last night during a rain soaked game. The Lakers were able to get on the board with 16 minutes left to go in the game with a goal scored by Cole Metelak. The Lakers defense was able to hold the Spuds in check from there to hang on for the win. The Lakers are now 4-5 on the year with their next game coming up on Monday when they travel to Walker to take on the Wolves. We will have that game for you on KDLM beginning at 5:30. For Moorhead they fall to 6-4-1 on the season and they will next be in action Saturday taking on Sartell-St. Stephen.

Volleyball

It was a dominating performance by the Laker Volleyball team last night in Crosby-Ironton. The Lakers took the match in 3 straight sets 25-9, 25-15, and 25-10. With the win the Lakers are now 6-6 on the season. They will next be in action on Tuesday as they will travel to East Grand Forks.

Football

The Laker Football team looks to remain undefeated as they host the Park Rapids Panthers tonight at Mollberg Field. Last week the Lakers dominated the Fergus Falls Otters 49-7. Laker Head Coach Josh Omang said that despite starting perfect they are not feelings satisfied and they want to continue to improve. Pregame coverage for tonight’s football game will start at 6:30 kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.
