Lakers Swim and Dive
A win and four broken records Tuesday night for the Lakers at the Girls Swim and Dive meet against Perham Tuesday night. Sophomore Jennifer Tracy shattered the individual 200 Freestyle pool (2:00.15-Gulon) and school (1:59.46-Gulon) records held by her teammate Syd Gulon with a time of 1:58.41. Tracy came back in the 100 yard backstroke and broke the school record (1:02.20 Grace Livermore) with a time of 1:01.62. Senior Syd Gulon broke her own pool record for the 500 yard Freestyle by 13-tenths of a second with a time of 5:19.64. The Lakers defeated Perham 126 to 60. Lakers next head to Fergus Falls Saturday for the Otter Invite. with a time of 1:01.62. Lakes Boys Soccer
Detroit Lakes hosted East Grand Forks last night at the Rotary Soccer Park and fell 2-1. East Grand built a 2-0 lead and despite giving up a late goal it was a victory for the Green Wave they improve to 5-4 on the season. With the loss the Lakers fall to 5-7 on the season and will host Trek North on Thursday.
Laker Girls Soccer
It was an overtime thriller last night for the girls’ soccer team in East Grand Forks. The Lakers picked up a huge section win against EGF in double overtime with a game winning goal scored by Karrigan Hallisey. With the win the Lakers improve their record to 8-2-2 on the season. Next up the Lakers host Princeton on Saturday at 1pm.
Last night the Laker Volleyball team moved a game over .500 with a convincing win in East Grand Forks last night. The Lakers are now 7-6 after a sweep against the Green Wave 25-14, 25-6, and 25-8. The girls will host Thief River Falls on Thursday at 7:30 at the Ralph Anderson Gymnasium.
The tennis team traveled to Alexandria yesterday and fell to the Cardinals 6-1. The tennis team has a few off days now as they return to action next Tuesday as they will take part in an invitational at Moorhead.
