Authorities found a body in a river northeast of Wheaton on Monday, and they think it could possibly be a person who was reported missing last month.
The body was in the found in the Mustinka River, which is about seven miles from 68-year-old Terry McCoy's house. McCoy hasn't been seen since June 17th.
The Traverse County Sheriff's Office announced in a press release it had recovered a man's body from the river Monday with the help of the Douglas County Water Rescue, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Wheaton Police Department.
McCoy was about to sell his farmstead. None of his personal belongings were taken. A pool of blood and a broken rocking chair were found inside the home. Ground searches failed to find McCoy, and the duck pond behind his house was also drained.
Officials are now waiting on an autopsy and positive identification of the body.
