Man Killed In Crash Near Crookston
(Polk County, MN) - A Mayville, North Dakota man is dead following a crash southwest of Crookston Sunday. The State Patrol says a pickup traveling early yesterday morning on Highway 75, Hubbard Township, Polk County, drifted off the road, and rolled, throwing the driver, 51-year-old Loren Lillemoen from the vehicle. Lillemoen died at the scene from his injuries. Investigators say he was not wearing his seatbelt.
Elderly Man Dies From Injures in Douglas County Accident Saturday
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a fatal two vehicle crash in Miltona Township on Saturday around 9:00 am. Deputies and other emergency personnel responded to the crash near the intersection of County Road 14 and Smokey Timbers Road. They discovered that 79 year old Marvin Hertwig of Miltona had parked his vehicle partially in the east bound lane, while 94 year old Kenneth Karius, also of Miltona was traveling east bound, struck Hertwig’s vehicle, and came to rest in the ditch. Karius had to be extricated from his vehicle by the Miltona Fire Department and was transported to the St. Cloud hospital by Life Link. Karius died at the hospital as a result of his injuries. Hertwig was not injured. The Sheriff’s Office reported that the road were icy.
