DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) - The paved runway at the Detroit Lakes Airport has reopened after being closed for construction.
The 4,500-foot long, 75-foot wide runway had been closed for more than 60 days to lengthen the runway to 5,200-foot long and 100 feet wide.
The new runway has been moved about 1,000 feet away from Hwy 10 for safety reasons.
The project budget is around $25 million, $7 million higher than the 2019 budget. Most additional costs will be covered by federal funding.
