DNR's Fall Color Finder will Tell You Where to See the Best Fall Colors in Minnesota

(KNSI) - The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is launching its fall color finder for the season.
The guide on the DNR website is updated daily with the leaf color percentages. There is also a list of all state parks and recreation areas and color guides.
Areas along Highway 61 on the North Shore, as well as Lake of the Woods and areas along the North and South Dakota borders are at 10 to 25 percent color change. Most other places around Minnesota are at zero to 10 percent.
Typical peak color for the far northern reaches of the state around the Boundary Waters Canoe Area is mid to late September. The northern third of the state peaks in mid-September to late October. Central and western Minnesota hits peak color from late September to early October. Southeastern Minnesota hits peak color in early to mid-October.
