DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) - A handful of tickets remain for the 2nd Annual Detroit Lakes Craft Beer Tour.
The Detroit Lakes Craft Beer Tour which is owned by KDLM parent company Leighton Broadcating is Saturday at the Washington Ballpark in Detroit Lakes. This marks the first non-baseball event to ever be held at the ballpark.
The event will feature local breweries including Disgruntled, Drastic Measures, Inbound, Bent Paddle and many more pouring 2oz samples of beer. Each attendee will receive a swag bag filled with a can koozie, bottle opener and t-shirt.
The Pandemic and strict gathering guidelines set out by Minnesota Governor Walz have forced event organizers to adapt - "normally we have a four hour tasting event, this year we're going to go back-to-back with two three hour shifts and limit the participation to 250 people per shift," says Jeff Leighton, General Manager of Leighton Broadcasting in Detroit Lakes.
The first shift begins at 1pm, the second at 4pm on Saturday.
Leighton adds they want to put on a fun summer event, but they are taking the pandemic seriously, "we're going to do our level-best to practice social distancing, one-time use tasting cups will be used rather than our normal reusable tasting cup, breweries will be spread out across the ballpark and you'll be asked before you enter the event if you've been feeling sick or been in contact with anyone who's tested positive for COVID-19."
Remaining tickets for the event can be purchased at the Washington Ballpark beginning at 10am.
