Girls Basketball

The Laker girls’ basketball team fell at home to Fergus Falls, 82-54. Fergus Falls led from the get-go and took a lead into the half, 40-24. Freshmen Ellie Colbeck led all with 24 points. Fergus Falls extends their winning streak to 8 games in row tied for their 2nd longest streak of the season. The Lakers drop to 8-12 on the season. Next up, Detroit Lakes will host the Bemidji Lumberjacks on Friday. That game will also be a special night, as the Laker players will sign autographs after the game.

Wrestling

#8 Detroit Lakes wrestling team will host #7 Frazee tonight at the Ralph Anderson Gymnasium. The Lakers enter the dual tonight with a record of 23-3. The Lakers beat the Hornets earlier this season at the Rick Lee Tournament 34-24. The match tonight will begin at 7:30pm. You can listen to all the coverage of the match on KRCQ 102.3 FM or on the Lakes 99.5 FM.

Nordic Skiing

The Laker Nordic ski team will have their Section meet today in Little Falls. The racing is scheduled to begin at 10am.

Boys Swim and Dive

After a 3rd place finish this past weekend, the Laker boys swim and dive team will return to the pool today, as they travel to Morris. The Lakers will travel to the University of Minnesota-Morris pool for a meet that is scheduled for 6pm.

Girls Hockey

The Detroit Lakes girls’ hockey team was officially given the 4th seed in the Section 8A playoffs. The Lakers will match up with Crookston at 7pm on Thursday at the Kent Freeman Arena. If the Lakers win on Thursday they would face Warroad on Saturday at 4pm. Catch all the coverage of playoff girls hockey on KDLM.
