Laker Sports Preview 12-18-18

The Laker gymnastics teams will host Perham at the Minnesota Flyers Gymnastics Club in Detroit Lakes. The JV will take the mat at 6pm with the Varsity to follow. Over the weekend the Lakers had a 1st place finish in Brainerd with a team score of 145.65.
The Laker girls’ basketball team will travel up the road to Bemidji to take on the Lumberjacks tonight. DL is looking to bounce back after falling to Alexandria last Friday dropping their record to 4-3. Tonight the Lakers will take on another section opponent in Bemidji who is currently 2-3 on the year. Tip-off tonight is scheduled for 7:30pm at the Bemidji High School.
The Laker boys’ basketball team will travel to Staples tonight to matchup with the Staples Motley Cardinals. The Lakers are looking for their second win of the season, after losing to Alexandria, on Saturday 73-44. The Lakers are currently 1-3 on the year. The Cardinals are also 1-3 on the year. Tip-off tonight is scheduled for 7:15, with pregame coverage on KDLM beginning at 7pm.
Boys Swim and Dive
The boys swim team will also travel to Bemidji tonight, as they will take part in an invite, at the Bemidji High School. The Laker swim and dive team will look to bounce back after a loss last Friday in a dual meet with Moorhead, 122-56.
The Laker girls’ hockey team is looking for their third straight win tonight, as they travel to Fargo, to take on Fargo-Davies. The Lakers were able to improve their record to 3-7 last week, as they picked up wins against Park Rapids and Crookston. Tonight’s game will mark the start of a 4 game road trip. Face-off tonight is scheduled for 7:30pm, at the Scheels Farmers Union Arena.
