The Detroit Lakes Police Department received a report that the 80-year old man had taken off in a pickup from his Detroit Lakes residence on Friday afternoon, and was spotted in Pelican Rapids asking for directions to get back to Detroit Lakes. After the Police Department sent out a missing person report, Detroit Lakes Police Chief Steve Todd says a citizen observed the man's pickup on I-94 near Alexandria and called the Minnesota State Patrol and a MN State Trooper was able to pull the man over. Todd said after a medical check the man was reunited with his family. The chief thanked the community for its response and help in the case.
