DETROIT LAKES, MN--Like the kids its profits support, the Boys and Girls Club of Detroit Lakes Thrift Store is growing. Club Executive Director Pat Petermann says the store is in the process of moving from it's current 45,000 sq. ft. location east of Downtown Detroit Lakes to the new, 80,000 sq. ft. building west of town, the old KMart building.
Petermann says since it first opened in 2006 in a 1,000 sq. ft. space, the store moved to the 13,000 sq. ft. space in the old Ben Franklin building in Downtown Detroit Lakes, then in 2010 moved to the current location.
Petermann says this will be the last move. He says they've got to be out of the current location by the month's end. They are still accepting drop off's at the current location and will come up with a plan to send drop offs over to the new location towards the end of January.
