Northern MN Man accused of inappropriately touching boy

Thief River Falls, MN (Learfield) - A northwest Minnesota man accused of inappropriately touching a boy is facing a felony charge in Pennington County.
Thirty-three-year-old Derek Liam of Thief River Falls made a court appearance Monday on one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Court records allege Liam touched the boy under 13 in a Thief River Falls apartment in March. Liam claims he was trying to show the boy how to wash himself properly.
A conviction carries a maximum 25-year prison sentence.
