One Injured Monday After Vehicle Crashes Into Tree Off Highway 71 in Hubbard County

UNDATED--A passenger was injured Monday afternoon in Hubbard County after a vehicle ran off Highway 71 and struck a tree. The State Patrol says around 3:20 pm Monday, a GMC Envoy was northbound on Highway 71 near Highway 87 in Straight River Township. The Patrol says the driver was distracted and veered off the roadway to the east and struck a tree. Two men from Park Rapids were in the vehicle. The 30 year old male driver wasn't injured. A 20 year old male passenger was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids with non life threatening injuries.
