DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) - School snow days as we've come to know them are likely a thing of the past. A unique side effect of the covid-19 pandemic.

Detroit Lakes Schools Superintendent, Mark Jenson, says the district hasn't really thought about snow days yet officially, but likely there wouldn't be a need to cancel classes due to inclement winter weather going forward. "I would say probably not, we're not going to get many more snow days anymore, we're getting pretty used to this distance learning."

Educators have reworked how to deliver months of curriculum to students due to the pandemic, so this winter, if students can't get to school teachers could deliver their classes online and the district wouldn't need to make up days at the end of the school year either.

A silver lining of a devastating pandemic? For educators, probably, for students, unfortunately.
