A Snowy, Cold March

DETROIT LAKES, MN--It was several degrees colder on average in March than the last two years and we received nearly 15 inches of snow according to local weather statistics compiled by Leighton Broadcasting Detroit Lakes for March. The average daytime high for March 2019 was 30 degrees. Last year the average was 36 and in 2017 it was 37. The warmest daytime high temperature was 51-degrees on March 23rd. The coldest daytime high temp was -4 degrees on March 3rd. The average overnight low was 7-degrees. The coldest overnight low was -24 degrees recorded on March 7th and March 8th. The warmest overnight low was 34-degrees recorded on March 27th. There were seven days of precipitation. The most daily snowfall was 13 inches of snow recorded on March 9th. We had a total of 14.8 inches of snow in March. The total snow for this winter season October 2018-March 2019 is 68.4-inches.
