Three days and a Number of Reported Motorcycle Crashes Across the State

UNDATED--Not a good few days for motorcyclists on Minnesota roads:
A Monticello man was injured in a motorcycle crash in Itasca County Sunday afternoon. The State Patrol says just before 4:00 pm a BMW motorcycle was eastbound on Highway 1 from highway 65 and crashed in the curves. The Patrol says 69 year old Steven Swenson of Monticello was transported to the hospital in Cook with non life threatening injuries. The Patrol noted alcohol as a factor in the crash.
Two Injured in Motorcycle accident in Kanabec County
A couple from Mora were transported to a Twin Cities Hospital with injuries from a motorcycle accident in Kanabec County Sunday afternoon. The State Patrol says just before 3:15 PM a Harley Davidson motorcycle was south bound Highway 65 at 145th St, lost control and went down onto the pavement stopping in the north bound ditch of Highway 65. Transported from the scene to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale were driver, 46-year old Brian Bertel and passenger, 57-year-old Caryn Franchuk-Bertel, both from Osseo, both with non life threatening injuries.Police: Motorcyclist Injured By Distracted Driver
Police say a motorcyclist in Duluth was injured by a distracted driver. Authorities say an SUV crossed the center line on Superior Street yesterday and crashed into an oncoming motorcycle. Officials say the SUV driver admitted to using a cellphone at the time of the crash. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Friday Motorcycle Fatality
A 40-year-old motorcyclist was killed following a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on Highway 65, north of Mora, which is about 52 miles northeast of St. Cloud.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported a Nissan Quest driven by 58 year old Martha Bush of Mora, was traveling north on Highway 65 and turning left onto Ninth Street North when it collided with a Honda motorcycle traveling south on Highway 65.
Bush and the motorcyclist, 40 year old Kevin Baehr of Mora, were taken to First Light Hospital in Mora. Bush's injuries were non life-threatening. The state patrol reported Baehr, who was not wearing a helmet, died. The road conditions were wet when the crash occurred.
